Dr. Travis L. Biller
Pastor Travis is our senior pastor and is a native of Grand Rapids Michigan. He served in the Army as an infantryman and currently serves as a Chaplain in the Air Force Reserves. He married his wife Diana in 1995. They have two grown children, Christina and Ryan. He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Guilford College, and a Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, as well as a Ph.D. from Liberty University. He has pastored in Durham North Carolina and in Columbia South Carolina before coming to IBC. Travis enjoys running, cycling, swimming, and riding his motorcycle as often as he can.
Worship Leader
Emilee Whitehead
Emilee is our worship leader and was born and raised in Elizabethton. She is the music teacher at Harold McCormick elementary. She has been married to her husband Jarread since 2014. They have two girls, Eliza and Ellie, and two dogs, Melody and Shadow. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from ETSU and a Masters Degree in Administration from Union College. She has been a member of Immanuel Baptist Church since she was 6 years old and loves worshipping with her church family.
Youth Ministry Intern
Rey Herbert
Rey was born and raised in Dallas, Tx. He served in the Air Force as a weatherman and currently works in HR Specialist as his full time job. He married his wife Lexi in 2019. They have two young boys, Oliver and Theo–with a third on the way! He earned a Bachelor’s degree from Liberty University, and is currently pursuing his Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has served in other ministries from young adult ministry at FBC O’fallon IL, to children’s ministry at First Baptist Dallas, TX but feels a calling from the Lord to serve the youth here in Elizabethton in order to see the future generation of believers grow and spread the good news of the Gospel! Rey enjoys exercising, spending time with his family, playing board games with friends and family, along with watching anime.
Missions and Evangelism Intern
Jonathan Edwards
Jonathan is originally from Orlando FL, though East Tennessee has been his home since childhood. He is blessed with a large family, godly parents, loving siblings, and nieces and nephews. Jonathan earned his bachelor’s degree in Intercultural Studies from Spurgeon College at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City Missouri, and is currently studying for a Master’s of Theology from Southern Theological Seminary. He has served in various leadership and discipleship roles at Spurgeon College, around the world with the Fusion program, and as a pastoral intern at Northland Baptist Church in Kansas City. Some of his favorite pastimes are studying history, Orlando Magic basketball, and seeing cool places.
